Theatrical Professions
A detailed description of the roles and skills required for the many jobs and positions within the performing arts. The work covers creative positions, administration and management roles, technical positions, as well as various other roles.
Positions in the different phases of a production are described: production, pre-production, performance staff, and theater staff. Other professions and personnel within the performing arts are also detailed, such as choreographers, dancers, composers, music directors and arrangers, musicians, and singers.
This work is intended for students of the theatrical arts but will undoubtedly also be of great use to professionals and various types of theatrical organizations.
Interrelationships in Theatrical Lexicon
Throughout the years of work dedicated to compiling the Illustrated Glossary of the Performing Arts, I developed a series of charts that grouped related terms together as a working tool to help define the similarities and differences between such terms, as well as to serve as review lists for different groups of terms.
In this work, we present these enhanced and expanded charts, which we hope will allow students and professionals interested in theatrical terminology to conduct a holistic analysis of the subject and contribute to the creation of a common language among the various members of the theatrical community.
